Scholastic BookFlix is now available to all Ohio PreK-3rd grade students through INFOhio. This resource is not part of the Ohio Web Library collection and licensing does not extend to public libraries; access is exclusively for PreK-3rd graders, their parents, caregivers, and educators. I am sending information about BookFLIX to OPLINLIST, however, because any of these people may use BookFlix in your library.

For those unfamiliar with this product, BookFlix is an online literacy resource that pairs classic fiction storybooks from Weston Woods with related nonfiction ebooks from Scholastic. Children can watch animated versions of the classic books and then read a related nonfiction ebook.

Ohio students may access Scholastic BookFlix from any Internet computer. Ohio public libraries are encouraged to help PreK-3 students and their parents access Scholastic BookFlix through the INFOhio web page. Go to http://www.infohio.org and click Grades K-5 to find the BookFlix link. Use the school district's username and password (the student or parent may know the username and password, or the school or district office may share it with you). If the school username and password are unavailable, you may request a password using this form: http://www.infohio.org/getpassword/. On the form, check "None of the above" and put in "Public Librarian," and type in the name of your library in the "Ohio school" line. Please respect INFOhio's license and only use the password when assisting PreK-3 students and their parents/caregivers.
