KnowItNow24x7, Ohio's statewide virtual reference service, is seeking proposals for a virtual reference software platform to replace the current one in use.

Proposals from interested vendors are due by Friday, January 24, 2014, 2:00 PM Eastern 

Background: KnowItNow24x7 is Ohio’s virtual reference service cooperative and has been available as a statewide resource since 2004. Currently staffed by over 60 public, academic, and special libraries plus a number of individual volunteers during daytime and early evening hours, KnowItNow24x7 currently provides reference service via live chat, e-mail, IM, and text messaging. KnowItNow24x7 is funded by a Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services awarded by the State Library of Ohio. LSTA funds are administered by KnowItNow24x7’s fiscal agent, Cleveland Public Library.
