Preparing for Summer Reading Programs can be a long climb. Let the "Collaborative Summer Library Program" be your sherpa. Their website has everything from program ideas to artwork, all ready to use: http://www.cslpreads.org

Create a quick, free, account. Once you've logged in, you'll find resources and bibliographies for everyone from toddlers to adults. Even if you aren't using this year's theme, "Underneath," you'll find lots of ideas you can adapt. Go to Programs/Archives to find resources from past years, too!

SWON's Summer Reading Workshops are a great place to learn how to put these and lots of other new ideas into practice. Come for presentations and Idea Shares at Clermont County Public Library, March 6th , and Washington-Centerville Public Library, March 11th .

East & Central Children's Summer Reading Workshops
East: March 6th, at Clermont County Public Library , See what your neighboring library is doing for Summer Reading. Hear three library systems present the big-picture view of their children's summer reading programs : Adams County Public Library, Wilmington Public Library, and The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County.

After this morning session, hang around for an hour-long idea share . Bring your programs, projects or crafts with you to share with others. Read full details and register here: http://oh.evanced.info/swon/lib/eventsignup.asp?ID=413

Central: March 11th, at Washington-Centerville Public Library , the morning schedule is the same as the East workshop, but with three different libraries showcasing their summer reading programs : MidPointe Library, Washington-Centerville Library, Bradford Public Library.
As in the East, the morning showcase will be followed by an idea share where you can gather lots of new ideas to use. Register here for the morning: http://oh.evanced.info/swon/lib/eventsignup.asp?ID=424

In the afternoon, Alice Beresford will teach you to play a baritone ukelele . This is a beginner's class, so no previous experience or special skills are required. The cost of this afternoon session includes a ukelele to take home, as well! Register here for the afternoon: http://oh.evanced.info/swon/lib/eventsignup.asp?ID=430
