The Grandview Heights Public Library in Columbus, Ohio (www.ghpl.org) seeks an energetic leader with creative service ideas for ever-changing user needs as its next Library Director.  As Director, you will be expected to implement a nimble, aggressive service plan for a community which has high regard and expectations for its library’s offerings. Only 30 libraries have received five stars, five times in all categories.

 Located in the center of Columbus, OH, in one of the most desirable locations in the Central Ohio, you will be serving 25,000 registered borrowers and planning a budget of $2.5 million.  There are 44 staff members (33 FTE), of which there are 8 professional librarians. As Director, you must be a highly visible leader in the library, its service area and the Ohio library community.  You will be expected to form new partnerships and safeguard the many which already exist, successfully utilize technological advances, and maintain a culture of excellence and teamwork.  You will be involved in evaluating the current building’s use and implementing a plan for future growth and use revision. As Director, the Board will require a new, innovative strategic plan which shows an understanding of the symbiotic nature of social trends and new service implementation or refinement. Grandview Library is a proactive organization and requires someone who is comfortable with traditional services, yet very willing to experiment with the unusual or untried.  A well founded grasp of fiscal process, grant writing, levy campaigns and best practices is a must.
Qualified applicants will have relevant library experiences; 7 years library experience, with at least 3-5 as a Director or Assistant Director and an MLS/MLIS. Salary range from $80-100,000, based upon experience.  Excellent health and retirement benefits.
