Good afternoon,

 

Just a reminder that Ohio's Regional Library Systems and the State
Library are co-sponsoring several online mini-workshops to help
librarians plan for their 2013 summer reading programs.  These workshops
will cover both using the CSLP adult (Groundbreaking Reads) and teen
(Beneath the Surface) themes, and developing your own adult and teen SRP
themes.

 

 

Ohio Adult Summer Reading Mini-Workshop

Wednesday, January 30, 10:00 - 11:00 am

Speakers:

Susan Cozens, Westlake Porter Public Library

Teresa Huntley, Dayton Metropolitan Library

Linette Porter-Metler, Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County

 

Attend and learn about an "outside the box" approach to making a
memorable and buzz-worthy SRP, plus insights on programming,
collaboration, and more.  This workshop will be held online via Adobe
Connect.  Instructions for accessing the online workshop will be
e-mailed to you prior to the start of the session.   

 

Registration is required.  There is a $10 fee for this workshop.  The
workshop is open to all Ohio library staff members.  Links to register

Planning a teen summer reading program for 2013?  This series of
webinars will feature presentations by Ohio teen librarians who have
experience and insight on creating a successful Teen SRP, and library IT
experts with cool ideas on connecting with teens through technology.
Attend one or attend them all.

Topics: Planning and Promotion using "Beneath the Surface"; creating an
online Teen Reading Challenge

gaming; Special needs teens as library volunteers or employees

Speakers: Rachelle Perry, Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public
Library, Amy Neral, Hubbard Public Library, and Shawn Walsh, Madison
Public Library

 

These workshops will be held online via Adobe Connect, so you can attend
from your desk.  Instructions for accessing the online workshop will be
e-mailed to you prior to the start of the session.   Registration is
required and there is a $10 fee for each session.  The workshops are
