Subject: [OPLINLIST] Linda Castillo Author Event at Dover Public Library

NY Times Bestselling Author to Return to Dover Public Library

DOVER, OH—New York Times Bestselling suspense author Linda Castillo will be returning to the Dover Public Library on Thursday, June 20th at 12:00 Noon for a special Meet the Author Brown Bag Lunch event. Castillo will be discussing her latest Kate Burkholder Amish country thriller, Her Last Breath:

What at first appears to be a tragic, but routine accident becomes personal for Chief of Police Kate Burkholder when she discovers that the victims are the husband and children of her childhood friend, Mattie. As Kate delves into the case, she comes face to face with her Amish past and memories of growing up with Mattie, an extraordinary beauty whom trouble has always followed. The investigation takes on a more sinister cast as evidence emerges that nothing about the crash was accidental. Desperate for answers, Kate begins to suspect she's not looking for a reckless drunk who fled the scene of a brutal hit and run, but instead she finds herself on the trail of a stone cold killer living amid the residents of Painters Mill, Ohio. It is a search that takes her on a chilling journey into the darkest reaches of the human heart and makes her question everything she has ever believed about the Amish culture into which she was born.

Originally from Ohio where her Amish thrillers are set, Linda Castillo knew from an early age that she wanted to be a writer—and penned her first novel at the age of thirteen. The author of twenty-seven novels, she is the recipient of numerous industry awards, including the Daphne du Maurier Award of Excellence, the Holt Medallion, the Golden Heart, and a nomination for the prestigious Rita.

Her debut thriller, Sworn to Silence, was recently adapted into a two-hour original movie titled An Amish Murder starring Neve Campbell as Kate Burkholder. The Dover Public Library will host a special free viewing of the film on Monday evening, June 17th at 6:00 PM. Castillo’s Amish thrillers routinely appear on the New York Times bestseller list. In her spare time Linda enjoys riding horses, especially trail riding, and dabbles in barrel racing. She resides in Texas with her husband, three dogs, a barn cat, and two Appaloosa horses. She’s currently at work on her next novel, a thriller set in Amish Country and featuring Chief of Police Kate Burkholder. An optional lunch will be provided by Bread Head Bakery for only $5. A book signing will follow the program, which is free and open to all. Please call the Dover Public Library at 330-343-6123 to register.
