Picture Book Read-In 

It’s your time again. Time to meet hundreds of recently-published picture books, together in one room. Discover your next favorites and gather recommendations from your colleagues. This way of collection development isn’t just efficient, it’s fun! 
This year we’re adding non-fiction books to the list of books on-hand. We’re also adding an hour-long “Common Core Strategies” talk to the day’s agenda. Two former teachers who now work in libraries will share assessment tools that will help you identify Common Core books and introduce you to the Common Core Kits one library is loaning to teachers. 
We’re excited to see that teachers have already registered, as well as librarians. We look forward to helping librarians and teachers get ready for another great year of reading, August 9th .
