OHIONET is pleased to announce another slate of genealogy webinars,
presented in association with the Ohio Historical Society. The first two
sessions have been scheduled and offer our members an opportunity to
advance their knowledge of resources and strategies to help genealogical or
local history researchers.

Land, Ho!: Help your Genealogical Researchers Get Started with Land
Records<http://www.ohionet.org/civicrm/event/info?id=211&reset=1>
Many beginners in the world of genealogy might not even think of consulting
land records as part of their research process, but these can prove to be
invaluable sources when gathering information on a family's history. Join
us to hear Tom Rieder, OHS Reference Archivist, discuss how to locate and
interpret these (and other) real estate-related documents and how they can
help trace your genealogical story.

*When*: Tuesday, April 8, 2014; 3:00PM to 4:30PM

Whether your patrons are interested in documenting a family member's
experience or looking for primary sources to broaden their understanding of
a particular conflict, military records can be both incredibly useful and
hard to locate. In this webinar, attendees will hear from John Haas,
Manuscripts Curator at the Ohio Historical Society and co-editor of *To
Battle for God and the Right: The Civil War Letterbooks of Emerson Opdycke*,
as he shares an overview of what types of information are available and
where to begin searching.
