*Please excuse cross-postings.*

OHIONET is very pleased to announce the return of our long-running training
series, The Fundamentals of Cataloging. We have completely rewritten the
curriculum to include RDA-focused content from the ground up, but with the
same modular structure as before, allowing us to cover workflows and
processes for wide variety of materials we collect (including new media
formats and e-resources), as well as addressing a range of cataloging
skills like undertaking subject analysis and understanding classification
schemes. Our revamped series will also include more hands-on exercise and
practice time.

Registration for the first session in the new series--*Introduction and
Basic Description*<http://www.ohionet.org/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=223>--is
NOW open. <http://www.ohionet.org/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=223>This

numerous resource--books. In this session, attendees will…

   - understand the distinction between descriptive and subject cataloging
   - get to know the variety of tools available to help support their
   cataloging
   - identify RDA and hybrid records in MARC format
   - practice a sample workflow for cataloging monograph (book) sources
