[OPLINLIST] OWL needs professional marketer's touch

I know everyone has worked hard over the years developing marketing
materials, but to me there's a sort of "balkanization" of available
handouts, PDFs, bookmarks, etc., trying to promote the existence,
services, and instructions of the Ohio Web Library. I've
downloaded/printed bookmarks, handouts, brochures, tried to describe it
in website posts but can't find the marketing tool I'm really looking for.

Hope I'm not offending anyone, but OWL needs a professional marketer's
touch unifying the message, the graphics, and providing straightforward
articles and illustrations for libraries to use on their webs and press
releases to local newspapers, things that don't read as if they were
written by a librarian, if you know what I mean.

Given the cornucopia of services from "What's the point?" to "Workplace
skills for the 21st century", it might be impossible to hone a simple
message. But I consider OWL the best kept secret in Ohio still searching
for the right combination of promotion materials that will send it
flying (pun intended).
