The Board of the Norwalk Public Library (Norwalk, OH) seeks an energetic, proactive leader with creative service ideas for ever-changing user needs.  As Director, you will be expected to plan and implement an aggressive strategy for the library's offerings and facility.

The Director must be a highly visible leader in the library, its service area and the Ohio library community.  You will be expected to form new partnerships, nurture the many which already exist, successfully utilize technological advances, and maintain a culture of excellence and teamwork.  You will be involved in evaluating the current building's use and implementing a plan for future growth and use revision.

 The Board will require strategic plans which show an understanding of social trends and their influence on new service implementation and service refinement.  Norwalk Library needs someone who is comfortable with traditional services, yet very willing to experiment with the unusual or untried.  A well founded grasp of fiscal process, union negotiation, grant writing, and levy campaigns is desired.

Qualified applicants will have 3-5 years relevant library experiences, with at least 2 in a management position and an MLS/MLIS. Salary range from $60k, negotiable based on experience.  Excellent health and retirement benefits.  Situated centrally to Toledo, Columbus and Cleveland, and only 10 miles from Lake Erie, Norwalk is a wonderful location for those looking for a smaller city near metropolitan areas.
