JOB OPENING: LIBRARY PAGE 

Swanton Public Library seeks a Library Page. Candidates should apply in person or send application or resume to: Swanton Public Library; Attn: Janelle Thomas, Director; 305 Chestnut St.; Swanton OH 43558. Position will remain open until filled. EOE. 



Duties 

    * Shelves all circulating and reference library materials. 
    * Shelf-reads to ensure materials are in neat and proper order. 
    * Rearranges or shifts books as required. 
    * Retrieves materials from outside book and video drops. 
    * Keeps the library neat and orderly. 
    * Assists patrons with directional questions. 
    * May assist with library programs, including setting up and arranging furniture. 
    * Performs other duties as assigned for the efficient operation of the library. 




Qualifications 

    * Work permit required if under the age of 18. 
    * Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to work a flexible schedule are required. 
    * Good physical health with the ability to carry and move heavy loads and reach high shelves is needed. 
    * Must be able to file alphabetically and numerically and must have a working knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System. 
    * Must be motivated, a self-starter, and have the ability to work cooperatively with patrons and library staff. 




Training and Experience 

    * Must be enrolled in or have completed high school. 
    * Preference is given to candidates who demonstrate good scholarship and have previous library experience.
