The Board of Trustees of the Wright Memorial Public Library, located in the City of Oakwood, Ohio (a suburb of Dayton) is seeking a Director with strong public library management knowledge to develop and implement innovative and creative plans to position the Library for the future.  Wright Memorial Library serves a community of 9,000 residents.  In 2013, the Ohio Board of Education ranked the Oakwood Schools in the top 1% in Ohio and Newsweek ranked the schools in the top 1% nationally.  Forbes recently featured Oakwood as one of the best City/School locations in their list of "Best Schools for Your Housing Buck, 2013." The Director will oversee a budget of $1.5 million and a staff of 21.5 FTE.  The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to use financial, technical and staffing resources effectively to provide high quality services to our community.

Requirements:   An MLS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited institution; 5 years of professional public library management experience; demonstrated experience in library administration, supervision, budget management, strategic planning, and performance measurement. Other desirable skills include knowledge of building construction/renovation and in the issues surrounding digital services and consortia.  Experience in working on funding campaigns and doing grant writing is a plus. Two years as a Director, Assistant Director or in a leadership position in a larger library is preferred.
