[OPLINLIST] Applications are now being accepted to host an AmericCorps member during the second year of the Guiding Ohio Online program

The State Library of Ohio is pleased to announce applications are now being accepted to host an AmericCorps member during the second year of the Guiding Ohio Online program.  Members will serve in selected libraries during the 2015-2016 program year. The vision for the initiative is for every Ohioan to be able to fully participate in e-government, search and apply for jobs online, understand the risks and benefits to internet finance, connect with family online, and protect personal information in the digital age. AmeriCorps members will assist libraries with computer instruction, technology-focused community outreach, hands-on help, and other technology-related duties. Program activities are primarily in the areas of workforce enhancement and digital literacy. Libraries that wish to participate in this program must provide a small matching fund to secure either a full-time AmeriCorps member (1700 hours in the 11-month term) or part-time AmeriCorps member (900 hours in the 11-month term).

Part-time: Library match is $1250.00

Full-time: Library match is $2500.00

Guiding Ohio Online AmeriCorps members serve an 11-month term, tentatively scheduled to begin in the fall of 2015.
