[OPLINLIST] Adult Summer Reading Program webinar 2/25

Ohio's Regional Library Systems and State Library will present an Adult Summer Reading webinar, Wednesday, February 25 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.  The webinar will be hosted by NEO-RLS.  Registration is $15.

Join us for an action-packed hour of tips and techniques for producing a heroic Adult Summer Reading Program.

The fun will start with a presentation all the way from sunny California!  Heather J. Cousin, Director of the Simi Valley Public Library, and Morgan Pershing, Adult Services Librarian at the Santa Clara City Library, will discuss how to create a fun and inclusive adult SRP from scratch, gain the support of the library and community, and handle publicity and promotion.

Melissa L. Ziminsky, Adult Services Manager at the Kent Free Library, will share it's not just all about books.  Scheduling special events can provide added value and support to your adult summer reading program.  We typically reward patrons for what they read all summer, but if we offer the same incentives for attending library programs during the summer, we can encourage returning visits.

Janet Ingraham Dwyer, Library Consultant at the State Library of Ohio, will wrap up with a quick overview of resources available from the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) for libraries wishing to use the "Escape the Ordinary" theme.

Other than my piece, this webinar is not specific to CSLP themes and materials.  The content is for any library considering an adult SRP, regardless of theme used (if any).
