Seeking Full Time Youth Services Manager


    The Bellevue Public Library is seeking a full-time (40 hour/week) Youth Services Manager that will take our library to the next level. The successful candidate will be innovative in combining traditional library services with new technologies in order to create a memorable library experience for children and their families. We are searching for someone that is willing to think outside of the box to generate excitement, curiosity, and a love for learning at the Bellevue Public Library.     The Youth Services Manager coordinates services for children and teens (birth-18yrs.), parents, caregivers and families, including collection management, program planning and implementation, reader's advisory, scheduling/supervision and outreach in a lively library environment.
A key member of the supervisory team, the Youth Services Manager works closely with other Managers and the Director and routinely acts as building supervisor.
    In the process of completing an addition and renovation of a Carnegie building, Bellevue Public Library serves a population of more than 10,000. Bellevue is a warm community that is located mid-way between Toledo and Cleveland, approximately 20 miles south of Lake Erie.

COMPENSATION
Starting salary $17.56, depending on experience/qualifications, includes benefits.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
ALA-accredited MLIS required. Minimum 5 years' experience with progressive responsibility preferred. Demonstrated ability to supervise others, to plan and implement programs, knowledge of children's and teen literature, resources and emerging technologies as they relate to youth services required. Position requires morning, evening, and weekend hours as well as flexibility in scheduling.
