[OPLINLIST] Cindy Boyden Promoted to Library Consultant

The State Library is pleased to announce that Cindy Boyden<mailto:cboyden at library.ohio.gov> has been promoted to Library Consultant within the Library Programs and Development Department.  She will be in charge of day-to-day operations and activities associated with Ohio's Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) program, including assisting libraries in developing proposals, coordinating the review process and monitoring funded projects.  Cindy will also be working with libraries on their strategic planning process.  Cindy has been a Library Assistant II in Circulation and Special Services since December 2014.  She is currently participating in ILEAD USA Ohio 2015, an immersive one-year continuing education program that develops library leaders through projects based on community needs using technology.

Prior to joining the State Library, Cindy worked for six years at Worthington Public Libraries as a Circulation Assistant. She also worked as a Contractor with the State Library of Ohio and ProQuest in a digitization project involving Federal Documents from the early 20th Century. Additionally, Cindy developed a library for the Taxation Analysis Division of the Ohio Department of Taxation in 2014. "Cindy brings to Library Development a breadth of knowledge and experience which will enhance the department's ability to provide services and support to Ohio's libraries," said Missy Lodge, Associate State Librarian for Library Development.

Cindy received her Master of Library and Information Science degree from Kent State University School of Library and Information Science in 2013 and completed her Cumulative Experience (practicum) within the Government Documents Collection of the State Library of Ohio.  She graduated cum laude from Otterbein University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature in 2008.
