Jim Obergefell, the lead plaintiff in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case for the legalization of same-sex marriage, will speak at the Hudson Library & Historical Society. Obergefell, who co-authored the new book Love Wins: The Lovers and Lawyers Who Fought the Landmark Case for Marriage Equality, will share his own personal story behind the historic legal decision. WKSU's Kabir Bhatia will moderate the discussion.

Jim Obergefell has held a variety of corporate jobs in training and technology, and is the first recipient of the Ohio Democratic Party's Obergefell-Arthur Progressive Hero Award. He was just named by Politico as one of the 50 top visionaries of 2015. He lives in Washington, DC.

Kabir Bhatia, a graduate of Hudson High School and Kent State University, is an award-winning reporter at WKSU. NPR affiliate WKSU is an award-winning public radio station and service of Kent State University that broadcasts to 22 counties in Northeast Ohio from the station's primary signal at 89.7 FM.
