Take 5: An Ohio Youth Services Day of Dialogue
Friday, May 5, 2017 (with optional activities on Thursday, May 4)
Northwest Branch, Dayton Metro Library, Dayton, Ohio

Take 5 is headed to dynamic Dayton to continue exploring creative approaches, new ideas, collaboration, and network-building to inspire you and help you recharge.  For the sixth annual gathering, the planning team is working to bring this unconventional professional development event to yet another level.  Just wait and see!

Take 5 is a day of dialogue and discovery for public library teen and youth services specialists, museum and arts educators, school librarians, afterschool and recreation leaders, and other youth advocates.  This year Take 5 is pleased to have local author and advocate, Katrina Kittle, as a featured speaker. The ever-popular activity fair returns this year and promises more active learning opportunities! Attendees will exchange ideas, share successes, and inspire each other in conversation and shared activities. Expect to be surprised, challenged, affirmed, and invigorated.

Registration is anticipated to open in February.  Registration will be announced on this list and other Ohio library and arts listservs, and will be posted to the Take 5 webpage (http://library.ohio.gov/take5 ) and Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Take5YouthServices) and the SWON website (http://swonlibraries.org/).  Event cost is TBD, but will be as inexpensive as possible.  School librarians, museum educators, and other youth-serving professionals are invited to apply for a full scholarship (hotel cost and registration fees) to attend the event. Details about the scholarship and application will be available soon. Avoid the rush; request to attend now!
