Position Available - Assistant Director

 

The Highland County District Library seeks a full time Assistant Director to
assist the Director in specific phases of the library program, including
development of the library collection and patron services, technology
troubleshooting, readers' advisory and assistance in preparation of the
annual budgets. 

 

Applicants should have 3+ years of public library experience with some
supervisory/managerial experience and hold a BA/BS degree and an MLS degree
from an ALA accredited library school program or be currently working on
one.  Work experience at a SEO consortium member library preferred.

 

As this individual will be required to participate in professional and
community organizations, and will represent the library to the community,
some evening and weekend shifts may be required.

 

Other duties:

 

Provide library services to patrons at circulation desk, over telephone and
on-line.

Prepare meaningful, concise and accurate reports.

Communicate effectively in written and oral form. 

Develop good rapport with staff and library patrons.

May be necessary to speak to groups and classes.

Ability to stand, lift and carry materials is required.

Must have appropriate computer skills and troubleshooting abilities.

Be knowledgeable of, and implement library policies.

Performs additional duties as assigned.

 

Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience, excellent benefit
package.
