Job Opening - Children's Assistant (Part Time)

The Granville Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Children's Assistant to join our team. The Granville Public Library delivers dynamic service to children and families with an extensive collection, electronic resources and programming. The Children's Assistant will have routine interaction with library users to provide all aspects of library information assistance. Responsibilities include assisting library users in finding materials and information, promoting library initiatives and programs, assisting in collection maintenance and organization under the supervision of the department manager, shelving library materials and helping to maintaining a clean, organized and inviting children's department.

The ideal candidate must have a strong interest in providing excellent customer service to children and their parents/caregivers.  An awareness of trends in children's literature and popular culture is a plus.

This is a part-time position requiring 15-20 weekly hours. Night and weekend hours will be necessary.  Flexibility in meeting the library's scheduling needs is necessary, and work schedule may vary from week to week. This position has a starting rate of $10.00 per hour, and includes paid vacation and sick time. Participation in the Ohio Public Retirement System is required.
