[OPLINLIST] News from the Collaborative Summer Library Program - themes/slogans 2018-2022

Good afternoon,

I'm just back from the Collaborative Summer Library Program annual meeting, where member states and territories voted on slogans for three upcoming years:
2020: Imagine Your Story (theme: Fairytales/Fantasy/Mythology; artist: LeUyen Pham)
2021: Tails and Tales (theme: Animals; artist: Salina Yoon)
2022: All Together Now (theme: Changing the World; artist: Sophie Blackall)

These themes and slogans were voted on by CSLP state/territory representatives, with input from librarians and library workers around the USA. Thank you for the great participation from Ohio! Speaking of which, at the meeting, there was also an appreciation for outgoing CSLP board member Elaine Betting from Lorain Public Library System. Thank you, Elaine, for your thoughtful and influential service, and for the many, many hours you have devoted to CSLP.

As a reminder, of course, this year's slogan is "Libraries Rock" with a music theme, featuring artwork by Brian Pinkney. The 2019 program, "A Universe of Stories", has a space theme, in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing. STAR_net, PBS, the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, and other partners have great resources in store, as we learned at the CSLP meeting. Attendees also got a sneak peek at the 2019 artwork by Leeza Hernandez. I apologize for the tease, as the artwork is in development and not yet available for sharing online, but I think it will be popular among librarians and library patrons.
