[OPLINLIST] Employee time off

Hello everyone,

It is that time of year when I put out the vacation request calendar for
the upcoming year.  As it is with every year, I have two staff members who
request off every month there is a three day holiday weekend, and
Thanksgiving week and Christmas week.  I wrote a policy stating that staff
must work a minimum of days surrounding Thanksgiving or Christmas and that
seemed to work for a short time.  Now they request every three day
weekend.  I have so much more to do than try to come up with a policy
for every manipulative angle that they will come up with to maximize their
time off.  Other staff members aren't long term planners and can get shut
out every time.  There are only six of us and we need an four on duty
throughout our eleven hour workdays.  No one ever works alone.

What are your ideas/thoughts?
