Hello Ohio Libraries,

I am writing to you to make you aware of resources that the National Network of Libraries of Medicine – Greater Midwest Region (NN/LM GMR) has for Disaster Preparedness and Response.

Primarily, there is a page on the GMR website for "Preparedness and Response" which is "an online collection of resources and tools that are relevant to disaster and emergency preparedness." The National Library of Medicine (NLM) also hosts the "Disaster Information Management Research Center" (DIMRC) to develop and provide access to health information resources and technology for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. The aim of the DIMRC is to connect people to quality disaster health information and foster a culture of community resiliency. The NLM and the Medical Library Association (MLA) have developed the Disaster Information Specialization which offers free training in providing access to information for disaster and emergency preparedness, response and recovery. These free, online courses will help you to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to support your institution or community in times of disaster or public health emergencies.
