The Minerva Public Library seeks an energetic, forward-thinking,
patron-oriented professional to join our Youth Services team. The ideal
candidate will bring great ideas for developing and implementing innovative
library services and programming for youth; have current, thorough,
knowledge of library materials in all formats for youth; and demonstrate
knowledge of, and experience with, social media and emerging technologies.
Interested in building upon a successful but still new teen services
program? Here's your opportunity.
The Library's Youth Services Department works closely with Minerva Local
Schools, area private schools, and homeschoolers, hosting over 730 class
visits to the library in 2017. In addition, the Department also presented
more than 300 library programs throughout the year. An engaged and
passionate professional in this new position will help us develop existing
programs and create new and exciting services for the full range of
individuals served by the Department-babies, toddlers, preschoolers,
elementary students, tweens, and teens-as well as multi-generational
programs in cooperation with the Adult Services Department.
A Masters Degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA accredited
Library School, or substantial progress toward the completion of that
degree, is required. Students working toward completion of the degree and
with a focus on youth services should certainly consider applying. A
complete job description may be found here
https://www.minervalibrary.info/content/employment-opportunities .
This is a full-time (36 hours a week) position with full benefits, and a pay
range for this classification of $13.48--$18.08 an hour.
The position closes February 28, 2018
