[OPLINLIST] Reminder: 2018 Ohio Summer Reading Program Evaluation

Just a reminder, as some libraries are beginning to wrap up summer reading: when you finish your SLP/SRP and have your numbers added up (and have taken the opportunity to rest a bit and celebrate a bit!), please complete the 2018 Ohio Summer Library Program evaluation:

The State Library asks all Ohio public libraries to report on their summer library/reading program (SLP/SRP) at program's end.  This evaluation is for all libraries that offer a SLP/SRP, regardless of the theme used or age group(s) served.

Your participation helps the State Library, Regional Library Systems, cooperating state agencies, and the Collaborative Summer Library Program to provide helpful resources and support for future SRPs.  It also gives us the information we need to communicate the value and impact of summer programs at Ohio libraries.

This evaluation survey asks you to submit these numbers (as applicable):

*        Children, teens, and adults who participated in your SLP/SRP

*        Attendance at SRP-related programming for children, teens, adults, and all-ages

*        Statewide incentives distributed (State Fair, State Parks, Ohio Renaissance Festival) (if applicable)

*        Number of Summer Food Service Program sites operated/visited (if applicable)

The evaluation survey also gives you the opportunity to provide feedback on SLP/SRP resources provided by CSLP, Demco, the State Library, state agencies, and Regional Library Systems, and to make suggestions for improved or new services.  Also, please write up any experiences from your SRP that you'd like to share.  Individual stories of how SLP/SRP positively influences the lives of children, teens, or adults in your community are the most effective way to communicate the value and impact of summer library programs.

The survey should take you just a few minutes if you have your numbers ready at hand (longer if you have extensive feedback to share).

Please complete this evaluation at the end of your library's SLP/SRP and no later than September 15.  I will send additional reminders.

Thank you in advance for collecting your data and completing the survey. Summer reading and learning have a big positive impact on student success and community well-being.  Your survey response lets us demonstrate the range and benefits of summer programming in Ohio's libraries, and helps us continue to improve our services.
