In this workshop Lorrie Germann, State eRate Coordinator, will cover the
basics of eRate. This session is designed for those new to the eRate
process and will cover basics of the eRate, a discount on internet
connectivity, hardware, and other IT needs. This session will be available
both as a webinar and in-person at the OPLIN offices.

In this session, Lorrie Germann, State eRate Coordinator, will cover a line
by line review of the Form 470 in a simple and common scenario: filing a
470 for an internet connection or data transmission to a branch library
locations. A 470 functions as a RFP, and begins the eRate cycle This
session will be available both as a webinar and in-person at the OPLIN
offices.

Good Afternoon E-Rate Community,

This is another reminder of pressing E-Rate deadlines.

 *October 29, 2018 - FY 2017 BEAR (Form 472)* deadline for recurring
services (service received July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018)

•  The BEAR is located on USAC’s legacy system at
https://www2.sl.universalservice.org/bear/login.aspx.

• *To login to the BEAR portal, you must have a PIN.*  If you’ve misplaced
your PIN or you’re a new filer, go to www.usac.org/sl/tools/forms/pin.aspx
for details on acquiring one.  Keep in mind, PINs received in a previous
funding year are still valid.

• If you need additional time to file the BEAR, you may request and
automatically receive a single 120-day extension of the invoicing deadline
to submit invoices to USAC. *The request for an invoice extension must be
submitted on or before October 29, 2018, for the request to be timely
filed.*

• You may request an extension within EPC.  Click on the Billed Entity name
on your Landing Page, and then “Related Actions”.  The new tool is the last
item in the menu list.

 *October 29, 2018 -FY 2018 Form 486* deadline for funding committed in
Waves 1–12 (*all issued before July 1st*)

• The Form 486 is filed in the EPC portal.

• Applicants missing any Form 486 deadline will receive a “Form 486 Urgent
Reminder Letters” in EPC.  These reminders afford applicants 15-day
extensions to submit their Form 486s without penalty.
