Cataloging Specialist (Full-Time)
Hours: 40 hours/week

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for cataloging, processing, and classifying library materials. Ensures patrons will easily find materials by cataloging and downloading records into automated system.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

*         Catalogs and processes materials according to set instructions.

*         Classifies new library materials using Dewey Decimal, ANSCR and local classification schemes. Corrects existing materials' classification as necessary.

*         Downloads records into the automated system using OCLC bibliographic records.

QUALITIES OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
*         A high school diploma or GED
*         Cataloging and library experience preferred.
*         Proficiency in basic computer knowledge and demonstrable ability to use applications in Windows environment including Microsoft Office products, Internet use, and email.
*         Knowledge of professional library principles, methods, techniques, and procedures.

SALARY RANGE:  $11.00 - $17.00 DOQ. Benefits include paid vacation, sick time, and holidays. Medical, dental, and vision are offered. Enrollment in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement system is required.
