In celebration of Teen Read Week (Oct. 7-13), Ohio author Mindy McGinnis
will be visiting the Willard and Wakeman locations of the Huron County
Community Library.


Wednesday, October 10 at 5:30 p.m. join us at our Wakeman Library (33
Pleasant St. Wakeman, OH 44889), where Mindy will share the environmental
research behind her post -apocalyptic survival story Not a Drop to Drink .
This, her debut story, was published in 2013 and is set in a world with
very little fresh water.  It has been optioned for film by Stephanie Myer’s
Fickle Fish Films. The companion novel, In a Handful of Dust, was published
in 2014.


Thursday, October 11 at 6 p.m., Mindy McGinnis will be at the *Willard
Memorial Library location (6 West Emerald St. Willard, OH 44890)* to share
the research behind her Edgar Award-Winning Gothic historical thriller, A
Madness so Discreet.  Learn about how doctors treated brain injuries in the
1890’s and the different aspects of care for the mentally ill – for better
or worse.  A brief history of the Athens Lunatic Asylum, which is the
setting for the novel, will be included in the presentation. Books will be
available to purchase at both library locations.
