DOVER, OH--The Dover Public Library, located at 525 N. Walnut Street, will
host the 1st Annual Canal Town Book Festival on May 3-4, 2019. On Friday,
May 3 nationally acclaimed teen author Natalie D. Richards will be the
keynote speaker. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the Dover
Public Library. Events include music featuring accomplished guitarist Bill
Hall, refreshments, a program featuring Richards and a book signing.
Richards' latest book, *What You Hide, *is a thriller for teens and
adults.

About the book: Mallory didn't want to leave home, but it wasn't safe to
stay. So she sleeps at her best friend's house and spends the rest of her
time at the library, doing her online schoolwork and figuring out what
comes next. Because she's not going live in fear like her mother. Spencer
volunteers at the library. Sure, it's community service for a stunt he
pulled, but he likes the work. And it's the perfect escape from his
parents' pressure to excel at school, at ice hockey, at everything.
Especially after he meets Mallory. Then there is a tragic death at the
library. Suddenly, what was once a sanctuary turns sinister. Ghostly
footprints, strange scratching sounds, scrawled messages on bulletin boards
and walls... Mallory and Spencer don't know who or what is responsible, but
one thing is for sure: They are not as alone—or as safe—as they thought.

Richards is the bestselling author of six teen novels. She is a frequent
speaker at schools, libraries and writing groups and lives with her husband
and children in Ohio.

An Author Fair will take place on Saturday, May 4 from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM.
Between twenty and thirty regional authors will be present to meet the
public, discuss writing and publishing and to sign and sell books. The
author list includes names such as Patricia Miller, Kristen Lepionka, Paul
Stutzman, Linda Au, Rex Ray, Annie Tipton, Trang Moreland, Chuck & Beth
Hewett, Rose Hostetler and more. A complete listing of events and authors
can be found at www.doverlibrary.org.

"This is a great opportunity for members of the community to meet writers,
talk writing and to pick up an autographed book or limited-edition book
festival t-shirt or tote bag," said Jim Gill, director at the Dover Public
Library. "The authors write a wide variety of things, from mystery to
memoir to children's books and more."

Sponsors for the event include Campesino's Grill, Canal Dover Association,
Chrysalis Counseling Center, Country Inn & Suites, Dover Exchange Club,
Friends of the Dover Public Library, Kent State Tuscarawas, Krugliak,
Wilkins, Griffiths and Doughtery Co., L.P.A., The Bibliophile bookshop,
