Due to the overwhelming success of the program, all available Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training grant funds (including LSTA Open Grant funds for MHFA) have been exhausted. Effective immediately, the State Library of Ohio will no longer accept MHFA proposals for LSTA Ohio grant funds.

The federally funded Ohio LSTA<https://library.ohio.gov/services-for-libraries/lsta-grants/> grants enabled over 1,200 Ohio library staff and community members to receive the MHFA training! In 2018, the State Library of Ohio announced the designation of LSTA grant funds for public libraries to obtain Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training, for staff and community members.  Open Grant funds were also available to other library types interested in the MHFA training.

The State Library of Ohio plans to revisit the MHFA grant initiative during the next federal fiscal year to consider offering a similar program during 2020.
