[OPLINLIST] Floyd Dickman Outstanding Librarian Award for Children's Librarians

The Floyd Dickman Outstanding Librarian Award, given biennially by the Mazza Museum, is now open for nominations.  Please click here to read more about the award. <https://www.mazzamuseum.org/floyd-dickman-outstanding-librarian-award/>   Please consider nominating a children's librarian who has demonstrated a strong commitment to library service, continuing education and diversity.

Nominations can be submitted from June 30 - July 30, 2019.  The Floyd Dickman Outstanding Librarian Committee will choose applicants from the nominations to advance in the selection process. The Floyd Dickman Outstanding Librarian will be announced by October 1, 2019.  The award will be presented on Friday, November 8, 2019 at the Mazza Museum Weekend Conference.  The nominee must be present to win.
Floyd C. Dickman, was a continuous supporter and advocate of children's literature throughout his lifetime.  Mr. Dickman spent his career teaching and serving in libraries in Ohio. He was known for his generosity of time, talent, and gift.

Along with serving, Mr. Dickman was dedicated to continuing education - learning and teaching were lifelong passions.  He shared his knowledge and experience of library science by teaching at several higher education institutions. Mr. Dickman was also dedicated to furthering initiatives of cultural diversity and social justice.  He loved to share and promote books that shined a positive light on different cultures and lifestyles.

The University of Findlay's Mazza Museum celebrates the original art of picture books using education, exhibits, events and artist visits The Museum is home to more than 13,000 pieces of artwork from picture books, making it the largest and most diverse collection of picture book art in the world.
