An Evening with Eric Nuzum, Author of Make Noise: A Creator’s Guide to Podcasting and Great Audio Storytelling

Veteran NPR podcast creator and strategist Eric Nuzum will speak at the Hudson Library & Historical Society on Wednesday, February 12 at 7 p.m. about his latest book, Make Noise: A Creator’s Guide to Podcasting and Great Audio Storytelling. In his book, Nuzum identifies the core principles that he considers the key to successful audio storytelling, including how to think the way your audience listens. Nuzum also shares a multitude of insights that will guide individuals to express themselves as effective storytellers. Ira Glass, host of the award-winning This American Life podcast, calls the book “an interestingly idiosyncratic and personal vision of how to make podcasts.” Make Noise blends a combination of practical advice and personal reflections about his time producing top podcasts including The TED Radio Hour, Ask Me Another and Invisibilia.

Nuzum is the former Director of Programming and Acquisitions and Vice President of Programming for National Public Radio, where he worked to build NPR’s popularity as one of the top podcast producers in the country. His experience also includes a tenure as the Senior Vice President of Original Content Development at Audible, Inc., where he created and developed over 36 ground-breaking original audio programs and podcasts. Nuzum has ties to Northeast Ohio and was the former Program and Operations Director of WKSU in Kent, Ohio. Today, he is the Co-Founder of Magnificent Noise, a premium podcast production and creative consulting company located in New York City.

Copies of Make Noise will be available for purchase and signing courtesy of the Learned Owl Book Shop. Register for this free event online at hudsonlibrary.org or call (330) 653-6658 x1010.
