MidPointe Library, Branch Manager – West Chester – Full Time

Use your leadership, management, and supervisory skills to lead this very busy library.


As a branch manager, your days would vary with a mix of assisting customers and the public services team; overseeing & managing the branch operations; resolving customer issues; meeting with collaborative partners; or assisting staff with a branch event. You would also be responsible for coaching, mentoring, conducting staff meetings, and giving feedback & completing performance assessments. You would also ensure that established policies & procedures are followed while customers needs are being met; ensure that the branch programming needs are being met; make budget recommendations; and represent & promote the library to community organizations & civic groups.

MidPointe is located on the east side of Butler County, Ohio in a vibrant, dynamic, diverse community that enjoys community support. Nestled between Cincinnati and Dayton, the area has a wide variety of schools, entertainment, dining experiences, sports, and cultural events. We have something for everyone!


To Be Successful, You Will Need To:

  *   Have a Bachelor's degree. A Master's degree in library science from an ALA accredited institution is highly desired.
  *   Have a minimum of five years progressive supervisory experience in a customer service industry.
  *   Must be a U.S. citizen for passport acceptance duties.
  *   Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license and be insurable or have the ability to travel to branches and events.
  *   Have proven leadership, budgetary, supervisory, building facilities, and community relations experience.
  *   Have excellent computer skills using various software programs that includes MS Office and ideally the library catalog and library research databases.
  *   Have a demonstrated ability to ensure educational and fun branch public service programming, outreach, and events.
  *   Have excellent customer service skills, a strong service ethic, excellent problem-solving skills, and adapt rapidly to change.
  *   Have the ability to plan, prioritize, manage, lead, communicate, and coordinate projects while meeting deadlines.
  *   Must be able to learn and carry out the responsibilities of the position.
  *   Regular and predictable physical attendance as required.



Physical Abilities Include:

-Must have sufficient clarity of speech, manual dexterity, and visual acuity as needed for the position.

-Able to work in areas with odors, including cleaners & disinfectants, and in areas that may contain dust, or other possible allergens.

-Must be able to move materials that could weigh up to 50 pounds and be able to move loaded book carts and/or bins that could weigh up to 200 pounds.



Work Schedule:

Exempt, 40 hours per week, including days, evenings, and weekends as needed.



Salary:

The pay range on an hourly basis is $21.03 - $36.81 and depends experience. This is an exempt position, not eligible for overtime.
