The Muskingum County Library System (MCLS) is seeking a full-time Customer
Service Specialist at our South Branch Library.



Muskingum County is located in beautiful Southeastern Ohio, just 50 miles
east of Columbus, Ohio, and is the home of Ohio University-Zanesville
Campus, Zane State College, and Muskingum University. The library proudly
and enthusiastically connects people with information, ideas, and each

Closing Date:    Friday, April 8, 2022

Salary:               $16.27 to $19.12 per hour (40 hours per week,
                      varied schedule)

Location:           South (Zanesville) Branch Library,

    2530 Maysville Pike, Zanesville, OH 43701



*Job Responsibilities**: *Under general supervision of the Branch Services
Coordinator, provides excellent library customer service in various
settings, including being responsible for the operations and staff of the
South Branch Library.



*Qualifications*:

Minimum: High School diploma; computer and customer service experience, and
a valid State of Ohio driver’s license



Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in related field, two (2) years of supervisory
experience



*Knowledge, skills, and abilities*:

●       Knowledge of library physical and digital collections

●       Knowledge of Windows operating systems, Google Suite, and various
library-related software and technology

●       Knowledge of emerging technologies

●       Ability to assist others with computer use, smartphones, copiers,
etc.

●       Ability to apply supervisory principles to practical situations

●       Ability to define problems and suggest solutions

●       Ability to prioritize

●       Ability establish partnerships, host library programs, and provide
engaging resources for the community

●       Ability to establish a cooperative work environment system-wide,
develop and maintain good working relationships with library supervisors,
and co-workers

●       Ability to prepare meaningful, concise, and accurate reports

●       Ability to maintain confidentiality of confidential and sensitive
subject matter

●       Skill in handling small sums of money and making change

●       Skill in communicating effectively and building rapport with
library patrons
