A Note From the Board President
[https://neo-rls.org/photos/53176_07172019110924.jpg]On July 31, a chapter will close at NEO-RLS with the retirement of Betsy Lantz. But with all endings, a new beginning is close by. It is with great enthusiasm that I announce the appointment of Ragan Snead as the next Executive Director of the Northeast Ohio Regional Library System, effective August 1, 2022. Ragan will not have far to move as she is already a fantastic member of the NEO-RLS team, having come on board last November as a Continuing Education Coordinator. During her time with NEO-RLS, Ragan has helped to bring about several initiatives that help our members be more productive and responsive to the needs of staff and patrons, including Archived Webinar Bundles, Networking Group Discord discussions, and improved Emerging Tech-Kits. Ragan's commitment to collaboration and learning will help grow and maximize relationships with our School, Special, Academic, and Public Library partners in her role as Executive Director. I can speak for my colleagues on the Board of Trustees when I say that we are looking forward to working with Ragan as she brings her vision for the organization to fruition in the next chapter of NEO-RLS! If you have not had an opportunity to meet or work with Ragan yet, I invite you to take a moment to welcome her to her new role with NEO-RLS.

I also want to express my appreciation to the Executive Director Search Committee and the entire NEO-RLS Board of Trustees for their commitment and dedication in selecting our new Executive Director and positioning NEO-RLS for its next successful chapter.

Through the IMLS-funded Public Library Virtual Storytimes: Meeting School Readiness and Community Needs through a Socially Distant Approach project, a team of researchers from the University of Kentucky School of Information Science is conducting a multi-state study to investigate the value of public library virtual storytime programs for young children and the larger community.
ALSC's Quicklists Consulting Committee has updated its Summer Reading Lists with new and exciting titles for 2022!

School Library Journal has announced its second annual SLJ Picture Book Palooza on Thursday, July 14. Face-to-Face Conference
The Ohio Library Support Staff Institute (OLSSI) is looking forward to celebrating our 20th anniversary with a face-to-face conference in Columbus this summer.
