Athens County Public Libraries are hiring for two entirely new positions
that will shape the library's digital literacy and digital services
programs moving forward. These are both opportunities to have a significant
impact on digital access and needs in Southeast Ohio and on the libraries'
services for the future.

*Digital Services Librarian*

The Athens County Public Libraries seek a full time (35 hours per week)
Digital Services Librarian based at the Nelsonville Library, 95 W.
Washington St., Nelsonville OH. This position is responsible for assisting
the Communications Officer in the management of the libraries’ social media
image across platforms; maintaining expert level awareness of the
libraries’ electronic resources, databases, and platforms in order to
promote the use of the libraries’ digital services and assist library
patrons and staff with their use; and creating and managing content on the
libraries’ digital platforms and electronic resources, engaging with
library staff and patrons as needed to identify, create, and share content.
Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Library Science from an American
Library Association accredited school, and 1 year of professional
experience in a library, education, or marketing setting. Salary begins at
$20.00 per hour and is negotiable depending on qualifications.

*Digital Literacy Manager*

The Athens County Public Libraries seek a full time (35 hours per week)
Digital Literacy Manager based at the Nelsonville Library, 95 W. Washington
St., Nelsonville OH. This position is responsible for digital literacy
programs and services delivered to patrons; including classes, workshops,
individual assistance, and development of new programs to deliver digital
literacy and technology education; working with partner agencies to develop
and maintain digital literacy and technology assistance programs inside and
outside of library branch locations; assisting administrative and
information technology staff with the maintenance of equipment and software
related to the libraries’ digital literacy, equity, and inclusion programs;
and supervision of the libraries’ Digital Literacy Librarians. Candidates
must have a college degree at the bachelor’s level or equivalent library
experience, and 2 years of professional experience in a library, education,
or technology setting. Candidates holding an MLIS degree from an
ALA-accredited institution are preferred. Salary begins at $20.00 per hour
and is negotiable depending on qualifications.
