This is a clarification about the registration links for the upcoming Early Literacy 101 workshops, announced on this list last Friday.

Several people have told me that when they clicked on the link to register for the workshop in West Chester, it took them to the registration form for Chagrin Falls. I'm mystified, as the links below (as I sent them) are correct. Maybe this is a glitch with SurveyMonkey, or a result of how Safelinks scans URLs.

At any rate, I'm very sorry for the inconvenience. Here are the registration links. If they don't take you to the correct form when you click, try copying and pasting. Let me know if neither works.

Early Literacy 101 is a FREE workshop open to all Ohio public library workers, taking place:

Registration will open in February for these workshops.

Early Literacy 101 is for new and seasoned library workers in children's services and outreach. It's great for anyone who plans and presents storytimes, and for anyone who wants to learn how to help children get ready to read. Participants will learn how brain development impacts how young children learn, and will explore effective, research-based early literacy resources and activities.

The workshop covers the Six Early Literacy Skills presented in the PLA/ALSC Every Child Ready to Read(r) 1st edition, and the Five Early Literacy Practices presented in the 2nd edition, along with other early literacy concepts and storytime tips.
