Sending on behalf of OhioKAN and YNN. Cross-posted; please excuse duplication. Posters supporting these programs are being shipped to all Ohio public libraries this week.

Hi Library staff!

We are very excited to help build awareness of two new statewide programs. The first is OhioKAN, which offers dedicated 1:1 support to kinship & adoptive families. The second is Youth Navigator Network, which offers dedicated 1:1 support to youth who are in, or who have transitioned out of, foster care. Both programs have a fully staffed team of navigators for people to call in and talk with as they seek out resources & supports. Please find a description of each program below, and please hang the posters up in prominent spots when you receive them!

Thank you so much,
The OhioKAN and YNN team

OhioKAN

OhioKAN is a flexible and responsive kinship and adoption navigator program designed to assist children, caregivers, and families statewide. This program is free to all Ohio kinship and adoptive families. OhioKAN can help families navigate basic needs, benefits, child health/development, childcare, financial services, legal aid, and more! The number to call is 1-844-OHIOKAN (1-844-644-6526) Mon - Fri 8:30am - 6:30pm, or families can visit OhioKAN's website at https://ohiokan.jfs.ohio.gov/. Our Navigators are available to talk 1:1 about any questions families may have.

YNN

The Youth Navigator Network (YNN) provides dedicated support to Ohio's youth and young adults through a 1:1 navigator approach. YNN helps youth navigate systems, access resources, and expand their network of connections. This could be basic needs, food/shelter, family relations, career assistance, education, parenting resources, and more. YNN is specifically available for youth and young adults up to 24 years of age who are currently in out-of-home care, have had an open case with children services within 24 months, or have aged out of care. YNN meets youth where they are, through conversations with navigators, statewide advocacy opportunities, a growing network of supporters, and more. Learn more: https://ynn.jfs.ohio.gov/
