[OPLINLIST] OPLINLIST Outreach/Home Delivery Policy (Morgan Paul)

This is what our outreach policy on bed bugs contains:

   - If bed bugs are known to have been at a residence, place those items
in a clear plastic bag. The material can be left at the site until the
Outreach Coordinator has time to discuss the situation with the Public
   Services Supervisor and Director.
   - Any Materials that come back to the library are placed in plastic
totes in the Delivery cars to inhibit spread.
   - Upon returning from deliveries, open all bags and material on the
counter. You have a better chance of seeing anything on the countertop.
   - Any materials that have bed bugs are set aside in a plastic bag and
‘cooked’ at Public Services to kill the bugs
   - Deliveries to that patron are suspended until proof that their home
has been treated for bed bugs is provided
   - Delivery Bags are washed on high heat and dried on high heat
   - Any cloth that cannot be washed is doused in 90% isopropyl alcohol and
   set outside to dry
   - If bed bugs are found in the library the Director will take steps to
   handle the situation.

At this point we only suspend deliveries to patrons who have confirmation
of bed bugs in their residence but we will monitor materials that return
from neighbors and wash those bags as well.

I hope this helps!
