As our Digital Content Creator, you will play a crucial role in expanding the library's digital presence and engaging our community through compelling content. Your primary focus will be producing, editing, and sharing captivating digital materials that showcase our diverse collections, valuable services, and engaging programs. This role offers the opportunity to blend your passion for storytelling with cutting-edge digital techniques, helping to promote the library's mission and connect with patrons and other groups and organizations in new and meaningful ways. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Creates a comprehensive vision and voice for the library's social media presence in collaboration with Marketing & Communications Manager.
* Produces the library's digital content from start to finish: Works independently to develop digital assets and manages the uploading and use of images gathered by library staff.
* Stays up to date with digital storytelling trends and emerging digital media practices. Monitors new technologies and developments in online communication. Shares insights with the creative team, identifying opportunities to apply these trends to enhance the library's visibility and impact.
* Develops creative, engaging, shareable, content-driven stories, including photo, video, and copy to grow the library's presence and reach across social platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
* Creates online strategies to grow brand presence and increase followers.
* Manages content calendars for social media and other appropriate digital channels.
* Works with other members of the Marketing Communications team to develop integrated content for use in both print and digital formats and works collaboratively across departments and buildings to develop appropriate content.
* Understands and responds to analytics to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of content across all channels.
* Monitors and responds to social media comments, questions, and feedback in a timely manner.
* Attends programs, special events, meetings and serves on committees.
* Edits and coordinates distribution of all press releases.
* Perform other responsibilities as apparent or assigned.
Required Skills & Knowledge
* Bachelor's degree in related field (Marketing, Journalism, Graphic Design, Public Relations, or Communications).
* Minimum 2 years digital content experience.
* Experience with social media platforms, such as Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
* Video/Reel production and editing experience.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills including writing and editing skills.
* Highly organized with strong project management skills.
* Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.
* Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
* Creative, adaptable, collaborative team player with positive attitude.
* Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Compensation & Benefits
* Starting Pay rate is $18.96 - $22.00 per hour depending on education, skills, and experience.
* Excellent benefits package and participation in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS<https://www.opers.org/>)
Status/Schedule of Hours
* Non-Exempt, Bargaining Unit position, 40 hours per week; may require occasional evenings and weekends.
* Position is located at the Woodbourne Library.
