It’s hard to believe, but we are only three weeks away from the 2024 Technology Conference: AI and Cybersecurity for Forward-Thinking Libraries<https://mms.neo-rls.org/ct.php?lid=329813813&mm=106972188431>, which takes place on Thursday, November 7th at the Hilton Garden Inn in Twinsburg. We have worked with OPLIN to plan an engaging, informative event with industry experts, technologists, and librarians from all over the United States.

I’m excited to share that we will be featuring four vendors at the event:

  *   FacilitySight – FacilitySight is a browser-based application which gives users real-time information about facility occupancy, current and past traffic, and safety events like inclement weather or shelter-in-place orders issued by the federal and local governments.
  *   Hoopla – Hoopla puts your public library at your fingertips. Borrow and enjoy audiobooks, eBooks, comics, movies, TV, magazines, or music everywhere you have a screen-your computer, your phone, your car, even your TV. All you need is a library card.
  *   Talpa – Talpa is a new search tool that helps you find books and media using a mix of AI and trusted book data. For instance, Talpa answers questions like "what is that fiction book on zombies adapted from a classic" and can even find books by their color or what's on the cover!
  *   Today’s Business Solutions, Inc. – Today’s Business Solutions, established in 1991, stands as a dedicated provider of software and hardware solutions with a specialized focus on serving the Public Library and Higher Education markets. Over the years, TBS has cultivated expertise in delivering a range of valuable offerings, including BookScan Stations, Print Management solutions, MyPC Computer booking systems, and Web-Based Printing Portals.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore offerings, network, and ask questions during the dedicated vendor time at the event.

Register for the Open Office Hour on October 15th to ask questions about the Know Your Flow Ohio LSTA Grant

Registration<https://mms.neo-rls.org/ct.php?lid=329851695&mm=106972188431> is open to attend the Know Your Flow Ohio Grant Open Office Hour on October 15th at 2:00 pm.  Ohio public library staff are encouraged to a drop in this Q&A session to ask questions about Know Your Flow, this LSTA special grant application process, or any other questions about applying for this opportunity.

The State Library of Ohio, in partnership with the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NNLM) Region 6, recently announced the Know Your Flow Ohio (KYFO) Grant<https://mms.neo-rls.org/ct.php?lid=329852917&mm=106972188431> program.  The purpose of the KYFO Grant is to help public libraries address period poverty for patrons within their communities.

Fifteen public libraries will be awarded the grant. Each library selected will receive one menstrual product dispenser along with menstrual hygiene supplies from Aunt Flow. As part of this special grant program, these libraries will also receive $1,000 to acquire additional Aunt Flow supplies and create health programs focused on menstrual hygiene, education, and menopausal health information. Libraries are encouraged to collaborate with local public health districts, universities, clinics, and other healthcare providers to organize presentations, panels, programs, or outreach events.
