The Athens County Public Libraries seek a full time (35 hours per week)
Branch Manager for the Chauncey Public Library in Chauncey, OH. This
position is responsible for library services delivered to patrons at the
Chauncey Public Library; including scheduling, supervision, and evaluation
of library staff; planning and booking library programs based on patron and
staff input; and formulating goals and objectives for the branch library
within the scope of system policies.

While the Chauncey Public Library is the smallest of ACPL’s seven
locations, the library sees as many visitors as branches that are 4 times
its size. Despite its small size, the library is the heart of its
community, providing a space for community members to connect and for young
people in the community to gather safely. The library manager is key to
setting the tone for all library users and keeping the library a safe and
welcoming place for all community members. The Chauncey community expects
to see significant development in the next decade, largely thanks to the
creation of the Baileys Trail System <https://baileystrailsystem.org/>
adjacent to the village. The library plays a key role in ensuring that
current residents continue to be supported as this development happens,
while also welcoming new community members. Pending funding, ACPL plans to
build a larger facility for the Chauncey community in the next few years.
The library manager will play a key role in the development of those plans,
helping to coordinate between the library and the community as plans are
developed.

Candidates must have a college degree at the bachelor’s level or equivalent
library experience, and 2 years of professional experience in a library or
education setting. Candidates holding an MLIS degree from an ALA-accredited
institution are preferred. Salary range is $20.00 to $30.00 per hour.
Starting salary is negotiable depending on qualifications.
