I prefer the SumUp to the Square but both have worked for us

I agree with Brad; we went with Square and love it. We don't do a whole lot of charges but with Square you don't have to have a monthly fee. Love that the hardware was free, and support has been great, and setup was easy.

We use Square and have been very pleased. Our volume is pretty modest, maybe $150-$200 monthly. They are a little more costly for processing than other options (last month our fees to process $214.00 were about $8.00).
Given our modest charges and the fact that their hardware and support are very good I'm happy with the setup.

Hi everyone!
I'm trying to decide on the best way to start accepting debit/credit card payments at the Circulation Desk at my library. We won't do very many transactions in any given month, but I think it would certainly be worthwhile to join the 21st century on this front.
My first thought was to set up a Venmo or PayPal account with a QR code to scan and just skip the hassle of a card reader altogether, but please send me your thoughts on how you handle this at your library. Thanks!
