Youth Librarian, DeHoff Memorial Branch (Full-time - 40 Hours/Week)
FLSA non-exempt, Min: $21.40/hour

Stark Library is seeking a friendly, customer service-oriented full-time Youth Librarian at DeHoff Memorial Branch, conveniently located in a tight-knit Canton, OH community located on Hartford Ave. and near the STEAMM Academy. ***MLIS required. Candidates within 3-6 months of completing their MLIS are also encouraged to apply***

Are you passionate about igniting a love of reading in young minds and building bridges between the library and the community? We are seeking a dynamic Youth Librarian to lead our services for children from kindergarten through the tween years-an age where curiosity blossoms and lifelong learning begins. With a strong commitment to diversity, early literacy, and inclusive engagement, this role is key to fostering trust through beloved programs like Storytime and school outreach. You will collaborate with local schools and organizations to expand our impact, curate vibrant collections that inspire discovery, and champion literacy through innovative, community-driven services.

An employee serving in this position advances the mission of the library by serving as a professional librarian, providing frontline customer service, conducting readers advisory, oversees the Children's collection,  programming, and collection management services.  The Librarian is also responsible for establishing and maintaining key external relationships (e.g., authors, publishers, organizations, etc.) on behalf of his/her location and representing the library in various outreach capacities.  The Librarian, in conjunction with the Branch Manager, helps set location goals for their own work as well as that of the rest of the staff and helps lead system-wide projects.



Adult Library Specialist, Lake Community Branch (Full-time - 40 Hours/Week)
FLSA non-exempt, Min: $17.06/hour

Stark Library is seeking a friendly, customer service-oriented full-time Adult Library Specialist at Lake Community Library, conveniently located in the Lake Community Center, which also houses the Lake Middle/High School, Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital Health Center, and the Lake YMCA.

At Lake Branch, adult programs aren't just events-they are highly anticipated gatherings that connect, inspire, and strengthen community bonds while building lasting support for the library. These programs enhance the branch's capacity to serve the diverse adult population of Lake Township-ranging from young adults to seniors-through inclusive, relevant, and high-quality services. The ideal candidate will enjoy planning and delivering engaging in-house programs, conducting outreach to connect with adults beyond the library walls, and building partnerships that extend the library's reach into the community. Strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of adult reading trends and topics particularly relevant to older adults, and a commitment to responsive, community-centered service are essential.

An employee serving in this paraprofessional position advances the mission of the library by creating and delivering activities for a focus age group as well as helping to establish and/or maintain key external relationships (e.g., authors, publishers, organizations, etc.) on behalf of his/her location or department, all in alignment with location and system-wide goals.  This role is also responsible for providing direct public service and basic to intermediate clerical support work as needed to ensure smooth delivery of basic library operations and services.
