The Art Resources Transfer (A.R.T.) Library Program provides free books on art and culture to public institutions nationwide. A.R.T. invites all public libraries, public schools, prisons, and reading centers to place an order of free art books for your library<https://www.artresourcestransfer.org/library-program>, if you define your community as underserved. The A.R.T. Library Program has hundreds of art book titles in stock. In 2025, A.R.T. celebrates artist Adrian Piper by distributing free art books in her name.

All public schools and public libraries are eligible to place annual orders of as many books as they want, one copy per title. Books are entirely free and shipped free of charge.

To get started, create an account on the A.R.T. website<https://www.artresourcestransfer.org/register>.
You can then browse the book catalog<https://www.artresourcestransfer.org/library-program>, which offers 400+ titles published by leading museums, galleries, and independent presses nationwide.

A.R.T. also offers free online teaching guides and other resources<https://www.artresourcestransfer.org/resources/guides> to help you use books in your educational work.
