At Logan County Libraries, we have had several homeschool groups and individual families use our library for many years. The Reference Department has offered tours, database classes, study rooms for testing or tutoring, instruction on using our Local History Room, and providing them a space to gather for various non-library activities. We offer Teacher cards to the parents (usually the mom) for books they or their children use for lessons. They are always welcome to participate in Story Times and other offered programing. Some of the students have been hired as a Patron Services Page or given the opportunity to volunteer in the summer. I am not familiar with what is offered by the Youth Services Manager or Teen Services Coordinator for their departments.

I have been getting questions about what kinds of things do we do with homeschooler groups.  As of now, we don't have any type of homeschooling programs.  What kinds of things/programs do any of you do with homeschooling groups?  Our library serves the Allen County area and there seems to be a lot of homeschooling groups, and I wouldn't know what to do or look into for this.  Do you have any suggestions or ideas?  If your library has homeschooling programming, has it been beneficial for your community and library?  Do you need a lot of staffing for it?  I would just like to gather some information and ideas before deciding on what to do.
