As you know, the Collaborative Summer Library Program's theme for summer 2026 is "Unearth a Story<https://www.cslpreads.org/>," with emphasis on archaeology, dinosaurs, and paleontology.

In light of the many requests for programs that we've already received, and to help celebrate America's 250th birthday, the Ohio Geological Survey will host a series of special regional events, including hikes and fossil collecting, to take place throughout the state from May through September 2026. We will share this information with the library systems as details are finalized. Also note that we will be curating a reading list of books about geology and Ohio geology, selected by our staff members, which we will share with the library systems as well. We hope in turn you will share this information with your library patrons and encourage them to join us at one of our special events.
