A Note from the

Executive Director

The NEO-RLS staff had a great time at OLC last week!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to learn more about our programs and services or to share a kind word about how NEO-RLS has supported you. Hearing how our work makes a difference means so much to our team! It's always a pleasure to see our members in person, catch up on what’s happening in your libraries, and have the opportunity to connect.

The highlight of the conference was cheering on our very own Melissa Lattanzi as she competed in Battledecks and celebrating Jill Grunenwald's win for Best Literary Tattoo in the first-ever Tattoo Contest. Go team NEO-RLS!

I hope you had as much fun as we did and left the conference feeling inspired, energized, and ready to bring some new ideas back to your libraries!

Reminder: The CSLP Manual Committees Want to Hear From You!

If you've ever wanted to talk with the committee volunteers who design the Collaborative Summer Library Program's annual programming manuals, here's your chance! The CSLP manual committees are hosting CSLP Manual Listening Sessions this fall.

The program manuals are designed to support summer programming for all age groups, littles through elders. If you are involved in planning and facilitating summer programming for any or all age groups, you can offer the committees some meaningful feedback.

At the Manual Listening Sessions, the committee members are hoping to gather some information on what elements of the program manuals you find helpful, what you really just don't use, what changes you might appreciate, and any other ideas or concerns you'd like to share.

You are welcome to attend the following session if you have any feedback to share about the CSLP programming manual:

Last chance: Register for “Stakeholder Mapping for Strategic Planning” on Nov. 4!

Join us for “Stakeholder Mapping for Strategic Planning” on November 4<https://mms.neo-rls.org/ct.php?lid=594694533&mm=171375590481>

Webinar on November 4, 2026 from 2-3 p.m. | Free! (Member) / $45 (Non-Member)

Successful strategic plans are built with the people who have the greatest stake in your library’s future. Stakeholder mapping is a practical tool for identifying who should be involved in the planning process. It also helps you understand stakeholder influence, allowing you to make more informed decisions about communication and engagement.

During this one-hour webinar<https://mms.neo-rls.org/ct.php?lid=594694533&mm=171375590481>, you will learn how stakeholder mapping can help you identify and prioritize stakeholders. This helps you then determine the appropriate levels of involvement in your process. Finally, your stakeholder map can be used to help communicate more effectively throughout the strategic planning process.

Whether you’re preparing to launch a strategic plan or looking for better ways to communicate progress and build stakeholder support, this session will provide practical tools you can begin using immediately.

Learn more and register here<https://mms.neo-rls.org/ct.php?lid=594694533&mm=171375590481>.
