[OPLINLIST] Janet Ingraham Dwyer to Retire After 17 Years of State Library of Ohio Service

[Headshot of Janet Ingraham Dwyer]It is with both joy and a touch of sadness that we announce the upcoming retirement of Youth Services Library Consultant Janet Ingraham Dwyer<mailto:jdwyer at library.ohio.gov> from the State Library of Ohio on November 30, 2026. For more than 35 years, Janet has exemplified what it means to possess a giving spirit and has put that spirit of service into practice throughout various roles in libraries. In particular, Janet spent a significant portion of her career at Worthington Libraries, having started there as a reference librarian in 1991. While there, Janet transitioned to the position of Outreach Services/Volunteer Coordinator in 2005.

Janet joined the State Library team in October of 2009, and she hit the ground running in her efforts to support, elevate, and promote the work of youth services-focused library staff from around the state. For the past 17 years, Janet has had a hand in numerous statewide and national programs and initiatives including Ohio Ready to Read [partnership between the Ohio Library Council (OLC) and the State Library]; Collaborative Summer Library Program; U.S. Department of Agriculture's Summer Food Service Program; coordination of Choose to Read Ohio, as well as the Floyd's Pick Book Award; Building Community-Based Summers; Take 5: An Ohio Youth Services Day of Dialogue; and so many more!
